Graduate Ready. Not Just Done.

UTVA High School gives students in grades 9 through 12 a rigorous, accredited education with the flexibility, depth, and real-world preparation that most traditional schools simply cannot match.

Four Years That Actually Prepare You for What Comes Next

High school at UTVA is not a holding pattern. It is a launchpad. Students earn a fully accredited diploma, build real skills, explore career pathways, earn college credits before graduation, and develop the independence and focus that colleges and employers are looking for.

Whether a student is driven toward a four-year university, a technical certification, a trade, or entrepreneurship, UTVA High School is designed to get them there with more preparation, more options, and more confidence than a traditional schedule-bound school can offer.

Students have access to advanced coursework and a broader course selection than most brick-and-mortar schools can offer, including options that are simply not available at many Utah high schools.

Skills That Pay Off Before and After Graduation

Career and Technical Education at UTVA gives high school students the chance to go beyond core academics and develop real, marketable skills in fields they actually care about. CTE courses connect classroom learning to the real world, showing students how math, science, writing, and communication function in actual careers.

Students who complete CTE pathways can sit for industry-recognized certification exams upon graduation, credentials that carry real weight with employers and can be used to get a job, launch a career, or reduce the cost of post-secondary education. Some certifications, including several Microsoft Office credentials, can be earned after completing a single course.

Start College Before You Graduate

Eligible UTVA students in grades 11 and 12 can enroll in up to two college courses per semester through local Applied Technology Colleges and Salt Lake Community College, earning credit that applies toward both their high school diploma and a post-secondary degree or certificate.

Courses are offered at a low cost per credit, must align with the student's graduation plan, and require a grade of C or better to receive credit. Eligibility is based on the admissions policies of each institution, and UTVA counselors guide students through the approval process to make sure every course counts toward graduation and the student's broader goals.

UTVA is an NCAA-approved school, which means student athletes can take their coursework at UTVA and remain fully eligible for Division I and Division II college athletic recruitment. This is not a small thing. Many online schools cannot say it.

If your student is a competitive athlete managing a training schedule, travel, or early recruitment conversations, UTVA's flexible structure and NCAA approval make it one of the most practical high school options in Utah.

High school students currently enrolled at a traditional school can take individual UTVA courses part-time through Utah's Statewide Online Education Program (SOEP), tuition-free. SOEP is a smart option for students who want access to a course their school does not offer, need to recover a credit, want to get ahead, or are balancing a demanding schedule that a full traditional school day cannot accommodate.

Students stay at their primary school and simply add UTVA courses to their existing schedule. There is no commitment to transfer, and no disruption to what is already working.

School Built Around Your Student's Life

High school students carry more than most people realize. Jobs, athletics, family responsibilities, health challenges, performance schedules, early college ambitions, and the simple reality of being sixteen in a complicated world. A rigid school day was not designed with any of that in mind.

UTVA High School is. Students learn from anywhere in Utah. Schedules have structure without being inflexible. Certified teachers are accessible and know their students by name. And because the school is online, students do not have to choose between their education and the rest of their life.

Your Student's Future Is Worth Getting Right.

Enrollment for the 2026-27 school year is open. UTVA High School serves students in grades 9 through 12 across Utah, with full-time and part-time SOEP options available.
