Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 2026

Our Commitment

Utah Virtual Academy (UTVA) is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to everyone, including students, families, and community members with disabilities. We believe that every family should be able to find information and connect with our school with ease.

Accessibility Standards

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, and cognitive needs. We also work to comply with applicable requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Accessibility Features on This Site

This site is built to work with keyboards and assistive technologies, and includes several built-in tools:

  • A “Skip to main content” link for keyboard and screen reader users.
  • An accessibility button (bottom-left of every page) with tools grouped by need: Vision (text size, highlight links), Color & Contrast (high contrast, invert colors, grayscale), Motor & Navigation (large cursor, reduce motion, reading guide), and Cognitive & Learning (focus mode, dyslexia-friendly font). Your choices are saved on your device.
  • Semantic headings and landmarks, descriptive link text, image alternative text, and visible keyboard focus.
  • Respect for your operating system’s “reduce motion” setting.

Ongoing Efforts

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We regularly review our website, train our staff, and work to improve the experience for all users. As technology and standards evolve, we continue to refine our site to remove barriers and enhance usability.
