Accredited. Accountable. Proven.
Utah Virtual Academy holds full accreditation from Cognia, one of the most respected accrediting bodies in the country. It is not a badge we display and forget. It is a commitment we earn and renew every day.
What Accreditation Means for Your Family
When a school is accredited, it has been independently reviewed and verified to meet rigorous standards for curriculum quality, teacher qualifications, student support, and institutional accountability. It means an outside organization looked closely at how we operate and confirmed that what we offer is the real thing.
For UTVA families, accreditation means your student's credits transfer. Their transcripts are respected by colleges and universities. Their diploma carries weight. And the education they receive every day is held to a standard that goes beyond what any school can simply claim about itself.

Accredited by Cognia
Cognia is a nonprofit, nonpartisan accrediting organization that conducts rigorous external reviews of schools and school systems across the country and around the world. It serves more than 36,000 institutions, representing over five million educators and 25 million students in the United States and more than 80 nations.
Cognia was established through the merger of two of the country's most longstanding accrediting bodies, the North Central Association and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and later expanded through the acquisition of the Northwest Accreditation Commission. Its standards are recognized by higher education institutions, state education agencies, and employers nationwide.

More Than a Credential
Earning accreditation is one thing. Maintaining it is another. Cognia's review process is not a one-time checkmark. It is an ongoing relationship that requires schools to continuously evaluate their performance, support their students, and improve. UTVA takes that responsibility seriously.
Our accreditation reflects the work of our Utah certified teachers, the strength of our curriculum, and the systems we have built to support every student, from kindergarten through graduation. It is the clearest, most independent confirmation we can offer that UTVA delivers on what it promises.
