Utah Virtual Academy CTE Students Visit the

OGDEN WEBER TECHNICAL COLLEGE

On September 25th a small group of UTVA students spent the afternoon at the Ogden Weber Technical College learning about the ins and outs of taking classes at OWTC while they are still full time High School Students at UTVA.  If a student decides to attend OWTC while still in school, they can attend TUITION FREE!  There are minimal costs associated with the program, typically ranging from $30-$100, depending on the program.

OWTC focuses on hands on learning  with asynchronous tracks, meaning you can go at your own pace and improvement is competency based.  With 32 certified programs to choose from, students can discover what they love to do.  Programs offered, range from; dental assistance to welding to information technology to culinary arts.

UTVA students learned that 80% of students who start at OWTC finish, 94% of students have a job BEFORE they finish at OWTC and 99% of students leave OWTC with a license of some kind!  These are strong numbers and seems to be a great viable option for those students interested in learning a trade!
