UTVA students gathered at the Utah State Capitol on March 1, 2018.  Students and teachers look forward to the annual outing to meet each other face to face.  Almost 450 students and their learning coaches came to support this outing! It is wonderful to see so much support for these types of outings.  As a virtual school we have the opportunity to meet each other face to face a few times a year, and Capitol Day seems to be one of the students favorites!  This year’s outing was sunny and brisk, quite the contrast to our outing held last year, right in the middle of a blizzard!

Our K-5 grades gathered first, we had Ms. LuAnn Charles lead us in our school song!  She told the students the story about how she got her inspiration for the song while she was on a fishing boat in Alaska!!!  Students helped Ms. Charles lead the song as she played her ukulele.  Our third graders got to actually MEET Governor Herbert!

Our Middle School students met together as well, before they headed off on their Capitol Tours!  Soon after, the High School students arrived, ate their lunch and headed off on their own tour!  We had our High School mentors ready to meet their students by grade level, and it seemed they all enjoyed their time touring the State Capitol!

Thank you to all of our students and LC’s who took the time to support our school and our annual Capitol Day Outing!!
